My name is Laura Lazzaretto, I was born and live in a small village in the countryside, not far from Venice in the northeast of Italy.
I started breeding Golden Retrievers in 1994, when I bought my first show golden bitch. I won a lot of awards with her in the ring and in agility. Soon enough I discovered working tests and field trials and I ended up dedicating most of my time to this sport.
At the moment I’m breeding under the kennel affix THINK TWICE
The first dogs from my breeding lines were exclusively show dogs. Some of them are Show Champions and International Show Champions but all my dogs have been extensively run in working tests and trials during the years.
At the moment I have 10 goldens in my kennels and mostly of them are working goldens as I started breeding from working lines too. Perhaps my most important and favourite dog is WIGGLIN’ JIGGLIN’ CUPCAKES, or just “Bart” for me (Int Ft Ch, Int Sh Ch, It Ft Ch,It Sh Ch, Dual Ch, Soc Ch, Top Retriever, Nor Ch, Aust Ch ). He is a “once in a lifetime dog”!! He is the first and only show Golden in the history of the breed who has won the title of International Dual Champion (International Working Champion and International Show Champion).
I’ve made up several Show Ch,three Club Ch, two International Ft Ch, three Italian Ft Ch and several Ft Winners and WorkingTest Winners.
In 2008, 2009 and 2011 I was a member of the official team who represented Italy at the IWT (International Working Test) and in 2008 I participated with the Italian team at the CLA Game Fair in England. In 2012 and 2013 I was among the four Italian dogs present at the Skinner's World Cup Retriever Event at Highclere, England. In 2014 my dog IntFtCh ItFtCh THE ROAD RUNNER and myself were selected as best dog of the previous trail season to represent Italy at the ICC (Individual Challenge Cup for Retriever), and we gained a second place, winning the title of Vice European Winner in 2014.
After many years of breeding and trialling in Italy and abroad, at the highest level, I hope to enrich myself becoming FCI judge for retrievers, career took up in 2012.
My breeding goal is to breed dogs which comply with the standards both in their looks but also in their temperament, which is a very important trait for me when I breed as this makes such dogs good in competitions but also great companions at home and when picking up.
The true passion for working with the dogs has led me to devote not only breeding but also training. From obedience basic training, to advanced training as preparation for competitions (field trials and working test), you can book individual lessons and / or training courses for groups.
If you want to organize a training in your area, both in Italy and abroad, do not hesitate to contact me.
